Howdy Folks,

Throughout the seven books, eight movies and recent additions to the franchise, J.K. Rowling has always been a sort of idol & heroine in her own way to fans of the Harry Potter Universe.

Recently though the relationship between the muggles of the potter-world and the creator has been on a rough patch.

On June 7th J.K. Rowling tweeted in response to a post by Marni Sommer, Virginia Kamowa and Therese Mahon on May 28th titled "Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate." (Post below).

In response to her tweet 46'300 people commented about her opinion on the post and how she commented calling people who menstruate as simply women.

Some of the twitter comments pointed out that transgender men experience menstruation while transgender women don't. Also that other gender across the spectrum may also experience periods as well.

I personally am an uneducated straight lady, and I'm sincerely sorry if anything I say in this post is offensive or incorrect. But the way I see it, people who menstruate are whatever they define themselves as, same as people who don't. Even if you don't agree it's still a matter of respect, the same as religion. Even if you don't believe in something people in this day and age, no matter their gender, age, religion or race all deserve an equal amount of respect.

There are more than two genders. In our society the most common and recognized genders are male and female. Though I'm sure there are others. But the fact remains that how people define themselves is up to them.

People who are born in a male's body can choose to change if it is up to them. You will never ever hear me say that someone isn't what they choose to be.

It is after-all our choices that define us.

The effect that her tweet has had not only on the potter-world community is also that she is being called transphobic in news headlines and blogs alike and has received allot of backlash by the public. J.K. Rowling responded to this by writing a series of tweets that defended her previous post.

Emerson Spartz, one of the founders of MuggleNet posted on July 4th using the hashtag '#IStandWithRowling' (Post Below)

Rowling has been under so much scrutiny over the past month at least with posts such as these and then defense posts against people, but I ask you this.

Isn't every popular or famous people at some point in their life and career going to say, do or at least think something that's going to offend at least a billion people.

Now I know some of you reading will think I'm on her side, which that's incorrect. I don't choose sides I just gather a random assortment of facts and type an anonymous rant where anyone who has five minuets to spare can read it.

I will say one thing though. I have a few friends who are transgender and some who are apart of the LGTBQ+ community, and I will never ever, ever put them down, or call them something that they aren't. I may question or accidentally make a wrong comment or assumption, but if I have the facts or someone has laid down the do's and don'ts I won;t cross them. I won't discredit their identity.

Credit also to J.K. Rowling, for these are her tweets, and to Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images for the post's photo. I own none of the images here.

Sorry to anyone I may have offended with this post, and sorry if I don't have all the facts. If anyone has any comments or opinions about J.K. Rowling's post of something in mine please get in contact with me, I'd love to hear from you.

That's all for now folks, stay foxy.
