Hello universe,

On April 27th 2018, The News Group’s ‘The Sun’ Released an article which labelled Pirates of the Caribbean’s star Johnny Depp as a ‘wife beater’. The publisher of the article (Dan Wootton), questioned J.K. Rowling how she could be “Genuinely Happy” with casting Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film and headlined the article “Gone Potty”. (Article Below)

Not only was Johnny Depp targeted in this article, with Mr. Wootton claiming that he was a wife beater, and that he engaged in domestic abuse with his ex-wife Amber Heard. But J.K. Rowling was also targeted, with Mr. Wootton writing “Rowling is proving herself to be the worst type of Hollywood Hypocrite here.”

Now let me ask you something here readers, anyone who keeps up with J.K. Rowling’s recent Twitter posts will know that J.K. Rowling has recently revealed that she is a Domestic & Sexual Abuse survivor. So, if Rowling truly believed the rumors and accusations about Johnny Depp, with her history and her experiences, do you think she would allow Johnny Depp to be cast in the Fantastic Beasts’ franchise?

Mr. Wootton wrote in his article, saying that Rowling was apparently ‘unaware’ that there was substantial evidence against Johnny Depp to show that he engaged in Domestic Violence against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Granted there was another post from January 13th 2017 written by Tilly Pearce for The Sun, which wrote about the official end of Depp’s & Heard’s marriage, and in that article came about the topic of Domestic Violence, between Depp and Heard, with Heard producing photo evidence from when Depp Headbutted her. I personally believe that J.K. Rowling would have known about this and discovered the truth underneath the News and Gossip. The accusation of Domestic Abuse is no push-over topic.

My point is, what gives us the right to judge and label others?

Mr. Wootton judged J.K. Rowling based on the factor that she went against Tilly Pearce’s article, claiming that she overrode the allegations because of her friendship with Johnny Depp. Later in the article by Dan Wootton, he wrote that “Rowling is a powerful figure, who likes to slaughter anyone who dares publicly question her morals or decisions.” Which apart from her saying that Trump’s idea of banning Muslims from entering the united states made him “Worse Than Voldemort” in 2015, there isn’t much to support Mr. Wootton’s claim.

Johnny is now suing The Sun for their labeling of him as abusive and violent towards his ex-wife, and defending himself from defamation. The Sun labelled Johnny as a ‘wife beater’ which at the time was just an accusatory topic which hadn’t been confirmed or denied. The Sun jumped the gun on the topic, and went straight on the labeling of Johnny, which is now resulting in them being sued, when really this whole situation could have been avoided.

Every day, thousands of people post something online. Everything they post has the potential to offend, aggravate, inspire, empower or inform thousands if not millions of people. This post could offend some people, something I post next week could. But the fact remains that every time we hit that send, submit, post or publish button, we take that risk.

The more followers you have, the more potentially disastrous something could be.

I'll end by saying this, what gives you the right? What gives me the right to publicly deface someone, to discredit them, to drag their name through the mud? Who gave me the power?

Sorry if I've offended anyone, or written anything which isn't correct, if you have any complaints, or you want your opinion to be heard, please contact me. I'd love to hear from you.

That's all for now folks, stay foxy.
